On January 15, 1907 the Lewiston Saturday Journal published an article "Development of Searsport and Stockton Harbor".

The unknown writer paints a vivid description of the uses and development of Mack Point, Kidder Point and Cape Jellison in the late 19th century and the first 6 years of the 20th century, after the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad connected that area to central northern Maine.
