Thaxter,

Well - good news! Through a collective effort - DECD (me), EMDC (Mike Bush), Maine Port Authority (Brian Nutter), Midcoast PTZ (Bob Hastings), GAC Chemical (David Coulter) and Sprague Energy (Duane Seekins) - we were able to convince the Searsport Town Council to add all of the property (including Sears Island) to our PTZ application. We took a bit of a verbal pounding, especially Brian Nutter, who represented the state's interest in Sears Island and DOT, but, as President Lincoln said, "endeavored to persevere." In the end, it paid off. Please pass the good news along to Jack, as I know he was interested in which way this would go. Of course, getting the town to vote for the island property in March will be another struggle, but...

Cheers,
