Mid Atlantic Wind Energy Areas Regional EA
On February 9, 2011, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management filed a notice in the federal register seeking comments on its ocean windpower plan for offshore NJ, DE, MD, and VA

On March 11, 2011, Penobscot Bay Watch sent a letter to the federal Office of Offshore Alternative Energy Programs of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement, concerning issues that need reviewing as part of the Mid Atlantic Wind Energy Areas Regional Environmental Assessment. In particular, the potential impact of windfarms on planktonic stages of blue crabs, blue fish and menhaden. European ocean windfarm researchers have found that the physical action of windmills can divert water currents that flow through the ovean windfarm
